There will be an extended edition of the TV Guide this week to cover Christmas
, but due to an appointment with The Hobbit this afternoon and lots of marking I haven’t yet finished the post. So I will update this post later tonight with the following week’s TV and my picks of the week. (see older archives of TV Guides here and here)
Edit: Back from the Hobbit (great fun)… I’ve updated the table below to include TV and Radio over Christmas week.
My top picks from this week are Material World on Thursday (repeated the following Monday) looking at the unsung heroes of science, and Orbit – which is on early on Thursday morning, but will be on iPlayer later.
My top pick from the Christmas week has to be the three Royal Institution Christmas Lectures (on Boxing Day, 27th and 28th) with Dr Peter Wothers. Chemistry has not been well provided for on the TV & Radio over the last few weeks, so this is a chance for it to have the limelight.
Also, here are the wonderful science interviews from last week’s PM news programme on Radio 4. Thursday’s conversation with Aoife McLysaght was particularly nice, especially her little anecdote about why science is so important.
