TV Guide w/c 19th November 2012

To give Sarah a break this week I have collated this week’s guide. I had a look at other freeview channels, but pickings are thin (Mythbusters on Quest at 8:00pm each weekday and E4 has The Big Bang Theory most nights). The BBC is definitely the place for science on TV this week.

My picks of the week are:

  • Infinite Monkey Cage – this is a great science comedy programme on Radio 4, and this first episode of the new series has Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise) and Ben Miller – author of  It’s Not Rocket Science
  • Dara O’Briain’s Science Club – includes how to deflect an asteroid!
  • Anthropocene – the current geological age is defined by human activity. Find out what geologists of the future will discover about us when they go digging.

This week’s TV Guide from @MrsDrSarah (archive of TV Guides found here http://teachitbetter.wordpress.com/tag/tv-guide/) includes

I’m really glad I watched Dara O’Briain’s Science Club last week, there was loads of stuff for GCSE biology and the introduction to DNA at the start will be a great resource – it’s still available on iPlayer and is included in the second half of this week’s guide.

Sarah’s Pick of the Week is the Science Cafe on Dietetics, and mine is Dara O’Briain’s Science Club which this week is all about Einstein.
